THE SEEDS

 

Our story has deep roots. In 2002, a group of 30 people began meeting in Alex and Marcie Rahill’s backyard, praying that their gathering would make a lasting impact on lives in the community of Canton. Their gatherings were the seed that grew into LifeChurch Canton.

LifeChurch’s vision was to reach people in their community by:

• Living out real and authentic lives

• Discovering a real God who brings hope and life change

• Finding real life that has meaning and purpose

In the years since, those seeds have grown and multiplied. Hundreds of people have come to know Jesus, and that little group of 30 has grown to a gathering of over 1,400 people.

THE SPROUTS

​

The story of LifeChurch Southfield began in a classroom at Ashland Theological Seminary, where 20 people met for weekly Bible study. We prayed, ate and enjoyed each other for over a year. Through the help of LifeChurch Canton, these sprouts became a plant in October of 2011. LifeChurch Southfield is impacting the Southfield community with relevant teaching, dynamic worship and authentic relationships. And don’t forget our good coffee!

THE PLANTERS

​

Alan Tumpkin and his wife Marcia have spent their lives in the Detroit area, from birth through college. It was undeniable that God called them to plant in Southfield, having personal confirmation as well as confirmation given by Alex Rahill (Lead Pastor, LifeChurch Canton). Since launching, God has been faithful, bringing like-minded people establishing a work that makes Jesus known.
